    Chinese paper cuts or cut paper design originated in about the year 500. They are one piece so they convert to silhouettes for quilts very nicely.

    These are raw edge applique. On two of the quilts the back of the fabric was used. The orange is Ritt dye powder sprinkle on wet fabric and the nuked for two minutes to set it.

    I used both the scissors and exacto knife to cut them out

    Wow, the poppies were my favourite. Do you cut them out by hand???
