this is my first attempt at a block. The pattern is "waterwheel variation" Not sure I like it, may try something else.

I like it. I love the fabrics. I like the 2nd. one. If I was using those fabrics I'd make a few more blocks and try different layouts....just to see how they would look together.

I like the combination - good job. Like the 2nd one a little bit better.

Here is what is listed on the swap site:

12 1/2 inch UNFINISHED chocolate/raspberry sampler blocks. This is includes chocolate-browns, tans, creams, raspberry, burgundy, pink.

I think I like the bottome one better substitute the blue with a cream, would still pull out one of the polka dot colors.

thanks for all the comments. Also thankyou for letting me know about the colors. I guess I need to go back and read ALL the posts associated with the swap. I have a habit of just jumping in and seeing if I can swim once I am in there. Back to the drawing board ( or more appropriately the sewing machine) I will try the cream as a substitue. I also am glad I posted the pictures so I would learn all this. Seems to be a day for that.

I guess I should ask the host of the swap if the chocolate is exceptable or if I need to change it to accomidate the color scheme selected.
