I made this queen quilt for my mother for Christmas. It's a pattern called Around the Twist, from a Fons and Porter book. They have it has a straight setting, but I set it on point.
This is the third top I've made with this pattern. I guess I'm addicted to it!
I quilted it with straight lines in the twist to enhance the trellis effect. Then quilted roses in the snowball blocks and a loopy thing in the middle of the twist block.

Beautiful!! Love it, great job!!! I would love to get a long-arm. I feel there is one in my future sometime!!!

It's a big step to get a longarm, but I'm not regretting it at all. I did, however, start with a shortarm (Juki) on a frame system (Hinterberg). It only lasted 6 months, as I was needing more throat space. But it does give you a chance to see if you like "stand up" quilting. That system only cost about $1500. But I still use the Juki to piece with, which is AWESOME!
