I made my first "Kindergartner Tote" last year when my oldest was in K. The teacher loved it and all my teacher friends and family wanted one so I decided to make this my go-to teacher gift.

It's a HUGE bag- much bigger than a paper grocery bag.

Stats:

28" wide on top
20" tall
20" wide on bottom
8" deep

It used TONS of interfacing! I quilt both the outer and lining fabric to interfacing before I sew the bag parts together. The bag is so big I have to piece the interfacing. I think there are over 7 yards of interfacing in this.

This year's teacher has the butterfly fabric in her room and her favorite color is yellow. The lining is a vintage sheet. (I have a pretty big collection of vintage sheets- love them!)

ETA- It's called a "Kindergartner Tote" because you can put a kindergartner in it and carry him around.

This retired teacher with 40 years of experience approves. Homemade gifts were always the nicest. It's really cute and she will appreciate that you have tried to make something special for her.
