I made this little wall hanging as an exchange gift for my mini-group's Christmas party. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pics, but I used a metalic thread and the quilt is pretty sparkly. :D

Rebecca, you were wondering about attaching letters to a quilt. This is one way to do it. I used Heat 'n Bond Lite to attach them, then I simply did a satiin stitch around to hold them permanently. Hopefully you can see that in the two pics of smaller sections.

I just did a simple all-over loopy design with little twinkly stars scattered throughout. Not sure I want to give this one away. LOL It measures 48x48.

Ignore the gold strip in the top right hand corner. That's just my practice swatch for determining tension. Definitely not part of the quilt. LOL

Wish these showed up truer to color and vibrancy. You'll just have to use your imagination. :D

That's so pretty, Lin! Do you machine stitch your appliques? The recipient is going to be thrilled!

Thank you CQ and Chele!

Yes Chele, I did machine stitch the applique pieces. I used Heat 'n Bond Lite to attach them, then I just used a fairly narrow satin stitch. If the recipient doesn't like it she can just give it back!

Thank you Ruth and Rebecca. :)

Yeah, it's pretty lively in person Ruth. Pictures rarely show the true colors and you can't even see the pretty border fabric except in the close-ups. But at least we have the technology to share with each other across the world. That's pretty cool I think.

Are those letters big enough for ya Rebecca? :D :D
