Christmas Tree Mini Quilt

Christmas Tree Mini Quilt
Pattern by Janet Wickell. The pattern is part of a "Quilting About" tutorial. Although I don't think 31 inches square is mini.
Good use of scraps! And I used a Christmas candy motif fabric for the backing - something I received in a grab bag bundle and heartily disliked. The light and brown squares are stitched on all sides. For the half square triangles I stitched on the "v" part, but left the straight edge unstitched.
Am I the only one that gets the whole thing pieced and find a dark square where there should have been a light square? Not like I have my eyes closed. I do look at every piece. I feel so silly when that happens. On the bright side I am getting better at fixing my oops.

I am working on my Xmas tree too. My friends have said the tree is too dark. I bought the pattern in a magazine but this is the picture of the pattern located on Pinterest
