Default Circle of Illusions...aka Circle of Migraines

I made this quilt six years ago as a challenge/dare from a Quilt Instructor giving a class in my QS. She said I would never do it, let alone finish it. I called this quilt everything from Circle of Nightmares to Circle of Migraines with a few other names for variety(LOL)
It took six months to make and I had it quilted by a good friend. I added the hummingbirds and morning glories appliques, going from larger ones to smaller ones, trying to get a whirlpool effect. I think I needed to add more to get the effect I wanted, but, oh well! Anyway, not only did I meet her challenge, I made this quilt a whopping 120" square. I am really quite proud of this quilt. Not just because of the labour intense work, but because I finished it!!!

I am so impressed! That is an excellent job. Cannot imagine a quilt instructor telling you you would not finish it though. She should have been more encouraging. So glad you finished it, just to prove her wrong, if nothing else! It's a beauty!

I would love to make a Vortex quilt, you did a great job! I've only been able to find one pattern for it. If I were smarter I could figure it out myself, but I'm just to lazy. Wonderful quilt!
