Finally got the call that my machine was ready so went and picked it up yesterday. It had been in the shop for 2 weeks.

Well, I finished the top for the DU banquet.... BUT, it's too late again for this year's banquet :(
Will just have to put it aside for now.... I have a whole year now to get it quilted.

Measures 73x73

Very nice!!
I can't part with my machine that long.
I found a man that retired & doing it on the side.
I had it back the next day.

Nice quilt! I picked my machine up yesterday, after 2 weeks of it being at the repair shop, and after 15 minutes of use, it took a dive while doing decorative stitch. Back to the shop....the repairman thinks it is the timing? I'm sooo disappointed. Expected to bring it home running like a new machine with no problems at all, especially since he had just cleaned and serviced it. I have a Bernina 185E and purchased it used. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem with a Bernina before. They are supposed to be workhorses....just feel real disheartened right now.

I love your quilt. I hate it when the machine is away for that long, so I have 5 (yep, you read right) machines and rotate their repair/cleaning schedules. My dealer even offers me a loaner if it is a busy sewing season like Christmas. I also have several vintage machines I could use.

I am so lucky! I take my machine in today & can generally get it back tomorrow. I would be going thru withdrawl if it took 2 weeks.

I normally get it back the next day but the "sewing head" went bad and they had to order the part.
(it's a Viking Quilt Designer II)

Dh bought me another machine (Singer 4423) to have as a back up....I got it ONE day before I picked up mine @ shop.

I am lucky I guess married to a retired sewing machine tech the key word here is retired so it's like pulling teeth to get him in the sewing room to look at it most of the time I take it to him a piece at a time to fix
