I think you nailed it but most comments are going with the knee jerk "that's not accurate " statement without really understanding what the "modern" quilt movement is ( think Elizabeth Hartman, people)

I bought a janome 7700 this year and I paid a lot of money for all those fancy stitches and by darn, I'm going to use them! Of course I know that I must experiment with different threads, but here are some more examples of my "experiments". These are receiving blankets for my granddaughter's baby. They were done with 40wt, 100% cotton thread by signature. I have friends who have never used their fancy stitches on their machines!

At our quilt retreats, there is not one person under 45, at the quilt stores I frequent there are very few people under 45. It must be that the respondents to those questionnaires were that age and the folks who were too busy quilting did not answer and they were over 45. LOL

I think I misunderstood the article. Apparently, I shouldn't read articles above my knowledge. When the article stated "Modern" I took myself as a modern day quilter (quilting in this day and age). I'm just a little old great grandmother trying to made up for lost quilting time!

Thia is an adorable quilt. Love your fabrics and stitching!
