Default Maverick Star Scrappy block from Quiltville.com

I, along with 1000's of quilters have far too many scraps and really must deal with them, I give so many away to my Patchwork group but even they are being overwhelmed so I decided to some quilts for Project Linus and decided on the Maverick Star from here: http://quiltville.blogspot.co.uk/200...ick-stars.html

Funny enough Bonnie doesn't have a pic of a finished quilt in this pattern so I played. 1st I cut them a bit wonky on a 1/2" lean, and I didn't like it so I sorted ouit my scraps a bit more organised and came up with the "in your face" red and black highlights, what do you ladies think? BTW it is a really fun pattern to do and so relaxed, no rules so the Quilt police can have a holiday

I like you attitude & your star! "In your face" is good -- in life & in quilts -- sometimes. It really works here! This will be a great kids quilt! Kudos!

Haven't tried the maverick stars yet, but have two others from Quiltville in progress -- usually use them as leaders and enders. Love your stars -- it will be super for a child!
