Default Order of the Eastern Star quilt

I went to a wedding at the Masonic Home in Wichita, KS. The chapel was for Eastern Star and they had this quilt at the entry way.

Just for your enjoyments. I found it interesting. And no, I can't explain it.

It does have some sort of symbolic meaning.

I am surprised they let you take the picture. I was a Job's Daughter back in the late 60's. My grandfather was a Mason, and he wanted us to join. We didn't stick with it. There were too many secrets and everything had a special meaning. A very dear friend of the family was a member of Eastern Star and she wanted to give my mom her Eastern Star tea cup and saucer, but was told she couldn't because my mom was not a member.

Too many secrets for me as well. My Mother was a Worthy Matron, her sister also an Eastern Star. My Dad, my brother a Shriner, and my mother's brother were masons. I had several of mother's friends ask me to join, but I refused. I feel like any org. that uses a building with no windows and has so many secrets is not anything I want to be part of. I kept my mother's ring and had it made into a pendant, I didn't ask anyone's permission and don't care what anyone thinks. Daddy bought it for her and felt like I had that privilege. I have worn it a couple of times over the years.
I have all of my Mother's papers and her book, but I have never looked at any of them in the 29 years she has been gone, because I wasn't interested in doing so. Not really sure where they even are now.

no secrets anymore, the web cured that. And tons of Mason/Eastern Star stuff for sale on Ebay.

My grandmother was in Eastern Star, I loved looking in her closet at the beautiful long white dresses. Many years after she was gone I had a friend in Job's Daughters. I asked her mom if I could join too, because my dad drove a concrete truck, didn't that make him a Mason of sorts. She is probably still laughing, as I do when I think of it now.

Beautiful quilt, thank you for sharing Leon

Beautiful quilt. My son is a Shriner as was my stepfather. It is a very worthy organization and they do so much good work. The Shriner’s Hospital for children is a good example, like St, Jude it is free.

The quilt is beautiful, thanks for sharing Leon.

Someone decided to be judge and jury when they told you mom that the gift was not possible. Sounds like just superstition caused the comment. I am of the opinion that is it's mine, I can do whatever I want with MY stuff.
