A few weeks (months) ago....I posted a topic looking for religious type patterns. I am making some banners for church. But Airwick sent me a pattern that I just loved. Every month the ladies in my church get together for a luncheon. The gal that heads up the affair..also does so much volunteer work in our community works tirelessly for people around her.
Well this lady had asked me to make a little wall hanging or something to bring to the September lunch...of course I didn't have enough time and asked to switch with the ladies in October.
I ran out of time again.....so I asked a friend if she would piece this for me ....so I could quilt it...because that is really what I wanted to do..I had a vision.
SO here it is:
The cross I wanted to quilt straight lines to represent the lashes Jesus took for us.
I quilted many different bible verses in the white areas.
I also quilted vines, leaves and flourishy type feathers because we flourish and grow with Christ....all of these vines of truth intertwine within us.
I noticed while the quilt was on the frame there was a quilt square out of place. The perfectionist part of me was getting ready to take off the quilt and fix that square...after much debate within myself I kept it...How perfect is it that that square was supposed to be colored but instead it was made white/pure? I think that is symbolic. How perfect was that design opportunity?
The quilt on the whole is not perfect...but still so beautiful! I actually think I love it more now....because it is representative of us.
So it is ready to be gifted....and I have to say that I love giving these types of gifts especially to someone who I know will cherish it and love it.
Thanks AIRWICK!
The Purified square.....
I love that even on the back of this quilt ..we can see where Christ was....remeberence.
