Ok, here's my first attempt at posting a picture! When I was a very little girl, my favorite book was The Pokey Little Puppy (a Little Golden Book). Every night my dad would read it to me, and I'd ask him to read it over and over. Throughout the years, he's mentioned how many times he'd have to read that book before I'd go to sleep. So for my dad's 80th Christmas, I couldn't resist buying the Pokey Puppy fabric and making a quilt for him. If I posted correctly, you'll hopefully see a picture of him with his quilt!

Oh gosh, I love the quilt for your Dad. I too loved reading that book to my children when they were young. What a fantastic idea - I didn't even know you could get the Pokey Little Puppy fabric :)

OMGosh! I loved the Pokey Little Puppy! That is so funny that you posted this. The day I flew home from Texas after my mom died I had to go to the store with my DH and there was a rack of the Little Golden Books with the Pokey Little Puppy right up front. My husband thought I was nuts when I dropped it in our basket and I was just like "my mom just died...can you just let this one go please". That book is in my sewing room right now :D I love that fabric!!

That is so sweet- thanks for showing us the quilt with your Dad. I used to read that book to my kids, too.

I can just imagine how thrilled he was to get such a special little girl! He looks like a wonderful Dad. I lost mine in 1997 and miss him. Thank you for sharing yours. Gabrielle

All 4 of my adult children would kill for that quilt. You've done an amazing job of capturing a classic!
