That is soooo cute!!! I bet she's going to just totally love it!! :D :D

One of my granddaughter's will be 6 in August, and I was wondering when would be a good age for her to learn..... It's so great you've taught your neice to sew already!! :-)

get her started now. its such a great age when learning everything is cool and fun.

my niece loves making gifts for everyone - she loves the positive feedback.

its really brought her out of her shell and she has tons of self confidence now.

That's just too cute. :) Reminds me of when my daughters were younger, they loved stuff like that. You did an excellent job in making it, too.

thats all it is.

had i known that she wanted you to just glue everything together i never would have purchased the pattern.

when you look at the photo on the site it looks like things are sewn together but they aren't.

she did everything with fabric glue - even the buttons she has on her bag are glued on.

the size of the bag is listed on the site and it would be very easy to make up this pattern on your own.

you don't even have to make the scallop edge you could just sew ric rac where the 2 fabrics meet and it will look like a cupcake.

no its a "to buy" pattern - here's the link. i purchased the pattern but if you know how to make a tote bag you don't need to purchase it.

you could just figure it out.

Very true, I like the edge on the icing though it gives it character, and if making more than one, just layer the fabric and cut all the pieces to make them unique to that cupcake, my girls will love it, and they are older, not small at all, I have a pattern in a magazine on an animal tote and the 15 year old would like one of them.
