Default Current Project is a Memorial Bed Runner

I started this Memorial Bed runner for my baby brother yesterday for Christmas. It will be a year Dec. 29th that dad passed. I am the oldest of 5 and the brother this is for is the youngest and also my Godchild. I am posting a pic of the start and the next step I am contemplating. I don't have a pattern just making it up as I go. Also posting a pic of the other fabrics plus a shirt of my dads that I want to incorporate along with 4 other pictures of my dad not in the picture. 2 are from his military days and 2 from later years. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome.

I am thinking to border this panel with the planes fabric with the USA patch and US AF patch centered.....what do you think so far?

I am thinking on using the bolder blue background Air Force fabric as the outer border

You are doing a wonderful job on the quilt. Your fabric and layout are just perfect. You are such a special person for doing this for your brother. I have the feeling that you are being guided in this project.

Whatever design you decide, he will love it. What a keepsake for him. Family is special. I am in the middle of six siblings.
