Oh Katiedid! I really like your wavy log cabin quilt! This is going on my bucket list. Boy oh boy do I have scraps to use in one similar to yours! Nice job. I really like the look of this. I'll have to scan the rest of this thread to see if you posted a pic with the border(s) on!

I did the blocks on my janome embroidery machine...digitized it( Jef format) so it was like quilt as you go( no batting) or flip and sew. It made all the seams more uniform . I sewed the strips on "no show mesh stabilizer" and squared them to 8 1/2 inch blocks... seam allowance 1/2 inch. Quilt is 12 blocks by 8 blocks, so without borders it is 96 by 64.. I think it will be petty close to king size with borders added. I am debating quilting on emb machine or longarm.

There are patterns for quilt as you go log cabin... I basically did this minus the batting and backing. I programmed in the lines to sew strips for curved log cabin... White ,narrow...colors wider... Makes the curve. Squared my locks to 8 1/2 in. , 1/2 in seam allowance. U can of course do this with strips in the regular method... Saves $ without the stabilizer and my first one was done regular , not on emb machine....Just did the second one on emb " just because" ... Not necessary at all.
so many beautiful quilts on here using all the traditional methods.
