    cut work portrait

I cut out the portrait from a fleece receiving blanket. It seems to work pretty well. I am hoping that the edges will sort of fray, and it will be like chenille. Do you think it will?

I will go back and make a quilt sandwich and then quilt the pattern down, following the cut lines. This should sort of "trapunto" the portrait.

Finally I will make a sleeve on back to hang it, leaving the blanket edges alone.

I oversized the paw pads so I can embroider a baby name and stats. But, currently I have no one to make this up for! I thought about since it is just a sample, doing one of my grandsons stats and name, despite them now not being a baby anymore.

    But fleece doesn't fray - does it? shouldn't matter - it's adorable!

Maybe she means cotton flannel rather than fleece with synthetic fibers?
Either way, it's a cute design.

Funny, I posted this yesterday, saying I had no one to make this for. Last night a lady at church announced she had an ultrasound and is having a boy!

I am not really sure what type fabric it is, it is just a blanket I had sitting around.

It's adorable and I think people will like having something they can personalize and call their own.
Blessed are the quilters, for they are the piecemakers.

    Teddy & Me -personalized

Thought you might like to see how I personalized this one. I used beads to add baby's name and birth info.

Lifes not the breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away.
