Darling Little Dogs work in progress
I'm making this for an Italian Greyhound Rescue fundraiser silent auction item. I'm trying to make it entirely from scraps. It will be decorative throw sized (about 50 x 60). The applique pattern and the pillow pattern is from Darcy Ashton's book, Darling Little Dogs. The quilt is a work in progress because I'm making it up as I go, which I regret. I started the piecing without a real plan. An amateur decision!! I'm struggling and decided I would post the mess and see if I'm going in a good direction. I want this to be a fantastic little quilt that will cause a bidding war at the auction. Some people will buy anything with an Italian Greyhound on it. But I hope that it comes out pretty enough to cause a fight over it. :-)
Pillow is done. Cute enough, but no WOW factor. Quilt top has me agonizing over every decision. Next time, I won't start without a pattern and colorway nailed down!

I love it! That pillow is terrific! Don't fret about not having a plan. When I start with a plan, I inevitably change it the minute I start sewing. Makes for some creative decision making!
I have this book and have tried doing a corgi as my dog, Gummybear, is a corgi. But I couldn't get the blanket stitch to look nice. I think it might be the thread I'm using. Can you share what kind of thread you are using?
