This pattern is called Stepping Stones and I found it in the book "Favorite Quilts Fast & Fun" by Nancy Smith & Lynda Milligan.

The close up is closer to the true color. I backed in in turquoise that really showed off the quilting. She did not see it until after graduation and was very pleased with it.

I love that block pattern. It's so cool. Your quilt is beautiful. I love the way the black sets off the turquoise. Perfect combo. I can tell she loves it. Thanks for sharing.

Wow love your colors. They have the block for free for this pattern at http://www.mccallsquilting.com/qb/pa...9_2/index.html if anyone is interested. My youngest son picked this pattern and wants it black and the color of his car...I told him to get shopping to match the fabric to his car color lol....
