My latest finish - this started with the fabric and developed from there. For those who don't know, Clarice Cliff was an English ceramicist working in the Art Deco period of the 1930s. Once I'd chopped her design up OBW styley, I was sad that the wonderful scenes of deco trees and houses were lost so I rebuilt them as applique! The quilted flowers were inspired by board member Shelley as well as a post by sgardner about Irena Bluhm - I used Pentel pastel crayons for fabric to colour them in after they were quilted - freehand except that I drew a circle in blue pen for the centre. The outline quilting is paisleyesque - also 30s-ish I thought!

This has been in progress for a long time, I have spent many hours on it but have truly enjoyed every second of my time working on it. I was quite sad when I sewed on the last bead! It is going into the special themed section of our National Quilt Championships on the 18th and 19th June in Surrey - the theme is Art Deco. :-D

PS Should have said that this was quilted on my Janome 6600. :-D
