Is there a name for this pattern?

Beautiful mixing of colors! Much like the quilts by Alicia at http://lucysquilts.blogspot.com where in 2001, she and her sister adapted the pattern from "Jewel Squares Window Cover" in Kaffee Fassett's "Glorious Patchwork" book. Alicia and her sister used 1" wide strips of black Kona cotton to separate the denim pieces, stitching with a true 1/4" instead of the scant 1/4" seam. That way they avoided heavy seams by stitching two layers of denim together. The key is that 1" wide strip that lets the denim just touch, not double, and press to the black strip. She says "I am not sure who adapted the pattern for denim but it was inspired." It is surely one I want to make.

They are very nice, b ut my experience with denim quilts is that they are very heavy. Otherwise they are beautiful.

I would never have thought anything that pretty was made from jeans!

So glad you shared your quilt. I am wanting to make a denim quilt and I am getting ready to start on it. It will be my first quilt. With a new sewing machine. I am new at sewing. So my skills are limited. My squares are about 5" kind of small. I think your quilt is very pretty.
