I started this a couple of days before Christmas. I'm going to let my grandsons give it to their mother since she sent me a few bags of their old clothes. Still haven't made the carry handles yet....that one is just pinned together and pinned on...will make 2 from a long seam and enough fabric to fold over. I thought that might make it stronger.
I pieced the back...top half is one piece, bottom half is blocks.

I think I want to clip some more and wash it again so it will look more raggy. Obviously, we don't have to be too precise with ragged objects.

OH...the piece of sweater it's setting on is a pad for my grandkitty's bed. I bought some old sweaters at the Thrift shop and I cut this piece from one & zig-zagged it to a small pillow case. Cut a square of foam mattress topping to fit and put inside. I think I'm going to make a little pocket to hold my homegrown catnip.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!

nanabirdmo.........I just made it up as I went along.........still making it up. Like the belt loop pieces on each side at the top. I had to add something because the side pieces were too short. I'm debating whether to put some sort of closure at the top. I cut along both legs right beside the inseam, but I left the seam with about 2" of fabric on the side which is what I'm using for the handles..thought it would be stronger. I liked all the pockets and have saved the pockets on the other side to make something else.

The sides and bottom were 5 inch wide strips, I think, with lining the same size. I didn't realize until I had it mostly sewn that I had white thread on top and black in the bobbin. Oh well.......

Since I used 16 tee shirts in a quilt, I have a stack of perfectly good tees with a 17 inch square missing from the back and a 7 inch square missing from the front of each. Any suggestions?? I've got lots of ideas, but more ideas from all of you would be welcome, too.

I just measured the size I wanted and cut it for the front. I had to make all the other pieces fit to the front
