Well, I haven't been able to convince my DH that he needs to learn to quilt, but he has definitely developed a love for sewing machines, especially Japanese machines (since I got my Juki). It turns out he loves the futuristic designs of the Japanese machines from the 50's and 60's (at least at this point ;) ).
He was so excited then, when he found this Domestic brand machine at a thrift shop yesterday (Domestic was from U.S., but this model 924 says "made in Japan"). It isn't in too bad shape, haven't tried to get it to run yet, but I am sure that is next 8-) .

Do any of you have any of these machines?

Thanks for looking.

It looks an awful lot like a 50's Necchi-Elna that I got at an auction in a beautiful solid wood cabinet full of vintage supplies for $30, even got the owners manual and some attachments. It sews beautifully.

Wow! You were so lucky! This didn't come with any attachments or manual (he only paid $2)...of course, I think DH just wants to play with it

Send him to Billy in the Vintage Machine Cafe! Billy also loves the old Japanese machines, and knows everything about them! (Lostn51 is Billy's board name)
