I made the quilt "just because". Before i got the top finished, DH announced that it was for him, which is OK. He ONLY had 3 others, after all, since he gave the first one to a neighbor with pneumonia. Then he saw some of the quilting here and decided he wanted thick batting, to show off the stitching I usually do. Then he took some of the money from his yard sale and bought me a Janome 6600, so he wanted fancy stitching on all of the arcs. Then he worried that it might not be warm enough (This is a guy who had me make him a heavy wool jump suit and was only ever able to wear it for about 10 minutes because he is always hot.). I had to use heavy corderoy for the backing. This quilt weighs a ton. It was difficult to quilt and impossible to hang where I usually hang quilts to shoot them. The pictures are not what they should be. I hope you can see them OK.

It's beautiful! Sounds like you need to just say "Uh-huh" and then do what you really know is the right thing to do! If he still gets cold, throw on another quilt!

Very pretty!! Gosh ... what kind of thread do you use to quilt through heavy batting and corduroy backing? Worsted weight? :)
