My DH asked me to make him a train quilt (he collects trains). He wanted trains embroidered on squares.....I was not very receptive of the embroidering trains idea....so he said, "If you will make the quilt, I will embroider the trains." Believe it or not...I showed him how to embroider and he actually did it. He said "never again", but it did get him this quilt. The border is green and I quilted the border on my machine....tied the interior. I was sneaky and worked on it while he was at work....surprised him with the finished product for Christmas. He was delighted! Made me feel good.

Glad your DH embroidered the trains. My DH just gives me a funny look when I tell him he can join in my fun. I told him if we both quilted, we could sell them. He just replied - "No, you always want to give them away." He's right. LOL He helps by driving me to the fabric shops whenever I want to go and with the designs because I don't use patterns.

Wow, he really wanted a train quilt!! My husband would never come near my sewing space if he didn't have to. The hubby will love it even more since he knows the amount of work that goes into it.
