Default Do I Need A Border

This is my second quilt. I would like to finish it for my sister to take to the hospital for her surgery on the 18th. I can't be there with her so I thought I could be in the form of this quilt.

Do you think it needs a solid border? The fabric on the right is going to be the backing.

It can go without, but I think a final border in the dark the same width as the zig zag would be a nice touch. It's your creation .. you can do what suits you.
It 's a lovely quilt your sister is going to love it no matter what you decide.

I agree with Lori, it can be either way. I you want it to be larger add a border. I looks lovely now.

It will be a lovely quilt -

I would suggest that you NOT send it to the hospital or nursing home, though - maybe have it ready so she knows it will be waiting for her when she gets home? When people are in hospitals, they get moved around - and sometimes belongings get lost or misplaced.

I like it without. A dark binding would be enough to set it off just right.

I like it either way, just depends on how big u want it. I gree dont send to hospital! Would be cool to send it so it arrives after surgery so it keeps her company while recovering at home! What a wonderful suprise!!

That is so pretty! I would just bind it in one of the dark fabrics unless you want it bigger. If she asks whoever takes her to the hospital to hang onto it when she goes into surgery, it should be ok. Also make a label for the back with her name and yours as the quilter and the month/yr created. I wish her a quick recovery!
