I've learned over time though when you do for others, over and over, the thank you's get fewer and fewer.. I don't quilt yet, I'm working on my first one, but I have sewn numerous outfits and the last time I didn't receive any acknowedgement (sp?) .. I even paid to ship it to them.. granted it was a gift on my part ~ but at least tell the person you got it!
I think we all experience this, sadly :(

On the other hand, you show your work to someone who really likes it. You can tell she likes it. She tells you how good the works is, how pretty it is, and that you should sell your work. I have no intentions of selling any of my work. It's strictly for fun. But, I say something like 'would you buy it, how much would you pay for it'?' Here is the kicker, they come back with something like "$25.00, 30.00" or something equally as stupid.
I rest my case.

OH MY GOSH GIRL Have you been listen into my thoughts?????????? Nothings secret any more:) MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY Nice? NICE? Do you have ANY IDEA how long it took me to make this? You try working your fingers to the bone till all hours of the night, with the dog yapping to be let outside, only to be answered time and time again "just one more part, I promise". Stick your fingertips with pins and needles (and I'm not even a diabetic) repeatedly...I could go on and on.....

I know what that is like I spend my whole saturday out of love to make a purse for my mother in law to give for her birthday ONLY to have my sister in law have negative things to say about it She does not know how much it hurt but I worked hard on it and spend my time on it only for her to point out everyting that was wrong with it and how I could had done better or how she could had done better. If she only knew what I went through to make this purse for her mother wonder if she would had thought differently

OMGosh....I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I am doing the ornament swap and decided to do the "folded" or "quilted" ornaments that you make with the little pins...well anyway since I am BRAND NEW at all this, let's just say it wasn't as easy for me as I hoped it would be. I finished both day before yesterday and my fingers are still sore! I had bandaids on 2 fingers....I literally drew blood...I had started over I don't know how many times and my husband looks at my 1st completed ornament and says "huh...that's kind of cute"....WHAT?!!!!! Kind of cute?!!!! I have decided that I'm not listening to anyone except other quilters who actually have a clue!
