Well, after meticulously cutting out HSTs and even marking the 1/4" on all sides, I tried sewing them together to make a doll quilt for the next swap. What a mess! I am hopeless. So ... I threw them out.

I pulled out part of my huge stash of fabric samples and selected some brocades and an really pretty embroidered satiny swatch and here's what I made. A practice run ... and I don't know what happened to the colors in the photo. The fabric has a gorgeous bronze sheen to it that isn't coming out and the border is a blue and bronze brocade.

I love the colours, they look great on my screen and just as you describe. You have made a beautiful minature quilt. Any doll will love it!
