Default Dreamcatcher Quilt in Blue Batiks

My sister-from-another-mother, Jasmine, is a Tslagi Cherokee medicine woman who asked me to make her a wall hanging in all blue fabrics. She chose Sue Bouchard's quilt, "Dreamcatcher", for the pattern, and I pieced the back with a turquoise feather print and teal solid. The basic quilting is stitch-in-the-ditch so as not to detract from the Four Directions. My plans are to embellish the top with some long, varying length "ray" stitches (1" to 2 1/2") in silver and deep turquoise holographic thread within the four quadrants but not on either the center or the flying geese or north/south/east/west units themselves. Jasmine will finish the quilt by hanging a 1 1/2" pendulum crystal from each of the four direction points, stabilized by a flat button on the back of the quilt.

For those who might be wondering why no animals are quilted into the wall hanging (I thought about doing that), Jasmine stated that for the intended purpose of this wall hanging, it should not have any animals either in the chosen fabrics or the quilting.

    Thanks for looking!

So beautiful! I love the feather print on the back - but then all the fabrics are beautiful!

Love the patttern, somewhat like "Trip Around the World" with a very different center. Nice!

That is beautiful! I love that blue feather fabric that you have, it's perfect! You must have had to hunt for that one.
