Dressed To The Nines

"I miscounted when I made them so there are two back squares in the same direction next to each other on the bottom row, but I did not realize it till it was too late to change it."
It's OK, I'm sure your Mom will think you and the quilt are just perfect! Great job.

slightlyoffQ. The more I look at it, the more I like it.. That goes for the back as well.
Very comfy looking. How smart of you to use sashing the same fabric as your main..Looks like something I might be able to do.. FMQing each block sounds doable...Dk. blue binding will look good . Nice job!

This is a GREAT quilt...your Mom is sure to be so pleased !!!! Bet she cries !! I'm with you...even tho i do my own wacky method of quilt as you go - it is the BEST WAY to quilt when you have just you own standard machine. You did a beautiful job with it.

Yes it was quilt as you go ! I have a small-ish space to quilt in so trying to wrestle a queen size quilt all at once is just asking for trouble ! Plus I love doing contrasting backing squares from the front, so if they want to they can easily flip the quilt over for a different look ! I did the same for my grandmothers quilt and she loves deciding each morning what side to put on the top !
