Default Eagle panel quilt

This is a quilt a customer brought because she heard I like to thread paint pictures. It was fun to do. I don't call these quilts 'cheater tops' i call them panels... A cheater top is a top that looks like it is pieced but it is one full top without any piecing done. I did a heart quilt back last year and someone said oh... i didn't realize it was a cheater top.. . I was not a cheater top but a panel print that the piecer had bought, cut apart and made a 10 minute block out of them.. I love getting animal panels that use the panel and piece around it. And, i cannot quilt over the faces of animals...have to give them feathers and hair.. so here are a couple i've done. It takes a lot of time to quilt these and make them come to life...but i like it. This eagle quilt belongs to a couple they both had been in the army so the eagle was pretty special to them.

You did a wonderful job. It's certainly hard to tell it's a panel now.

Your work is just beautiful! Really brings it to life. I saw a grizzly bear thread painted once, it was awesome.
