I made this serger cover today .I saw the idea somewhere on a blog.Anyway I like it because it ties on both sides and it doesn't pull your threads loose when you lift it off.Afriend gave me the block and this is what I decided to use it for.

I'm a newbie so forgive my ignorance here :) Can you please explain a serger to me-what is their purpose, how do you use them etc? I have seen them and they look so confusing to me!
Thanks!

Love your cover. Cute block. I need to make a cover for my machines, too. It is on my List!

I did not use any pattern for my serger cover.I just measured from the front to the back and across and then I left enough room to do a hem all the way around and then added two ties to each side.I sewed the block on that was given to me by a friend and added some lace around it and that was it.The blog that I saw used ribbons as ties, but I used fabric.Hope this helps.
