Default Every Good and Perfect Gift, #2

We started making our graduating high-school Seniors quilts to commemorate moving on to the next phase of their life. For 2012 our theme was “Every Good and Perfect Gift” the graduate being the good and perfect gift, not the quilt (grin).

Karl’s quilt, #2 in the 2012 graduation series, is a disappearing nine-patch. I picked the fabrics with the idea of a crisp fall walk in the woods. The offset column has squares appliquéd with year of graduation and high-school initials, the church logo, three squares to remind him of his church family and a personalized square. Karl achieved the status of Eagle Scout!

A note on quilt size – we plan on the quilts being about 70” X 90” but that’s been getting away from us and they’ve been finishing a little bigger. Oh well. The fabrics weren’t pre-washed and we made a coordinating pillowcase ...

Thanks for looking!

What a wonderful thing to do!How many seniors does your church have each year, and how many quilters help out? Karl's quilt was so pretty, and so well-thought-out!
