Default Everything old is new again

These are two little wall-sized quilts I made using small vintage blocks. The gold quilt is made with blocs that are supposedly from the 1900's & modern Civil War reproduction fabrics. The blue one is made from blocks from the 1930's & 30's reproduction fabrics. I realize neither is fancy but personally I kind of like simple quilts & I REALLY love vintage & reproduction textiles.

Very nice! Did you pick up the vintage blocks at an antique store, or did they come from your family?

Funny you should ask. I bought them from an antique store... to try to "replace" all the vintage family heirloom quilts that I had stolen by the moving company several years ago. I was heartsick! Granted, these (& the other tops I bought but haven't quilted yet) aren't the same as the ones my family made but they are a reminder. NEVER let your precious quilts out of your sight! I learned the hard way!
