Red face Evolution of a quilt

Okay, so I needed to make a quilt for DH's Boss' son getting married next week. I started with the Hoffman free pattern that I thought was so cool, and did not look that hard. I just could not get excited about this project, and I had two other large quilts I was working on at the same time (This began back in March). So, I got everything cut, and realized that all of those "x" corner blocks were foundation pieced. I am just not patient enough for them, as easy as they should be, so I adjusted the pattern to only have one "x" joining blocks to make them intertwine, and cut my FP blocks by 4. I got everything cut, and two of the blocks together, and just did not like it. So back to the drawing board. 6 months later, you see the finished pattern. I like it well enough, did not want to do too much quilting to take away from the gardenia print. This was my first FMQ feather, too. Not my best, but I am sure the kids will enjoy it. Think I will make a pillow out of the two blocks I did- they are 15" square. The quilt fits a full size bed, but is meant for cuddling on the couch. Thanks for all of your support, always. You are all such an inspiration for me.

It came out very lovely. You give me hope that I can redesign the ones I don't like.
