Default Experimenting with Metallic Thread

Thanks to those who helped me with this! I wasn't sure about what needle to use or what to use in the bobbin when using metallics but you all were so very kind and helpful!

This is Gutermann metallic thread for the feather - I used a Schmetz size 12 metallic needle - Connecting Threads Dark Honey in the Bobbin.

OhHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I love the quilting, and the metallic thread just makes it even more awesome! Some day I want to try the thread out. It looks intimidating but I hope your work inspires me to at least give it a try. Wish me luck. You have given me the "push" I needed! Thank you pumpkinpatchquilter. (love your name)

Thank you!

Rosie - I love YOUR name!!!! LOL* The metallic thread is so fun! I am learning what works and what doesn't with it. Of course my first fabric choice was a glitter - and I soon after discovered that glittery thread doesn't show up too well on glittery fabric! I'm also learning I like less rather than more with the thread. I think the next wallet I do I'm not going to add the little curly cues inside of the feathers...I think just a little sparkle is all that's needed for big impact.

Thanks for the kind comments - you all make my day!!!

Beautiful quilting! Do the mistakes show up more? My quilting is still kind of rough...I tend to wiggle too much, so there are squiggly lines. Your lines are about perfect....not a squiggle or a wiggle!

Nice! I love the colors of your wallet. What pattern did you use for it? Great job with your metallic FMQ. It's fun to learn, isn't it?
