FABRIC IS BACK
#171
In the last few weeks the WM here in Pahrump, NV has received a lot of new and very nice fabric. Many of it is whole collections.
The ladies that work there are all very nice. One told me about some flexible cutting boards in houseware I could use to make templates and stencils. While I was looking for others things, she went over to housewares and brought back what she had mentioned to me. It is perfect, can be cut with scissors (not your sewing ones) and there were three in the package for $5. They also know I have been looking for some red fabric with stars and I found some new fabric like that last time I was there (they were not working that day). So when I went today, they saw me and rushed over with the red fabric.
Several times in other cities I have found it hard to find a clerk. So I cut myself a yard, took the bolt and my cut piece to Customer Service. I have done this several times. One time I got the fabric free, the other time the clerk went back to fabric and came back with a ticket for the purchase.
Once visit to a local quilt shop in another city, I stood at the checkout counter for 15 minutes while the owner and another customer talked about what was happening at their church, so while friendlyness is nice, it can also be harmful. I left without purchasing.

One more reason why I'm beginning to wish I'd started a dog grooming business instead of a retail sewing shop.

thanks very much, twinkie, for letting your fellow walmartians know about the confirmation of the coming changes to 700 stores.
i'm sorry others couldn't resist the urge to rain on the parade.
