I made these for the craft fair I'm doing at the end of November. I saw simpler versions at a show I went to a while back and came home and devloped this design myself. I made this size and smaller ones. I thought they'd be nice for nuts (in shells, very popular in the UK at Christmas) and Quality Street which is a kind of chocolate sweet in bright coloured wrappers - also what everyone in the UK has around at Christmas time. The larger ones could also be used as bread baskets. I have no reason to think that they won't be washable although of course I'll try washing one before telling folk that they can. :-D

The large ones are 10" across and the small ones are 7". I made a few that aren't overtly Christamsy as well. :-D
