I was commissioned to make a double wedding ring quilt for a woman's daughter who is getting married in September. She specified the colors of turquoise and copper. I thought it was a strange color combination, and a little hard to find fabrics in these colors, but after shopping at two stores, going through my stash and my friend's stash, I came up with these fabrics. I spent the last couple of days cutting out all the pieces. What do you think of the fabrics and colors?

I can't wait to see the progress. I like the color scheme, almost a Southwestern feel to me.

I'm glad you said it has a southwestern feel because that's what she said her daughter liked. I thought it was such a strange color combo, but I think I'm going to like it. The background is a cream colored tone on tone. I'll take some pics as I go!

Those wouldn't be my color choices either, but they remind me of living in New Mexico and visiting the Pueblos. The natives there made beautiful turquoise and leather jewelry.
