After making quilts to donate to various auctions, I finally got to make one for myself. We are dairy farmers and I had fun implementing some of the aspects of my daily life in this quilt. It's my first try at applique, which was a little daunting, but ending up being very enjoyable. Hope you enjoy it too.
the whole quilt meausres a few inches under 5 feet square.

Here is my cow. I had fun quilting each type of patch differently.

This is the backing corner of the quilt; I used a feather stitch to fill in the interlocking borders around the outside.

Well Done! ....
As a former dairy farmer, I salute you for honouring your dairy farming in your quilt.
I'm working on The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt ... and have been doing extra blocks as I spot them that are symbolic of Canada, farming and the dairy industry.
Maybe you'll start working on it next?
