This is for a Christmas present for my dad and his wife. Yep, it's January 31, and I'm just finishing it. And we're having Christmas on Super Bowl. Between the snow storms and the freezing fog that resulted in power outages, Christmas and the quilt both just didn't happen on time.

The pattern is from the 2000 Quilter's Newsletter Magazine Quilt it for Christmas. I actually bought this as a kit on e-bay, and had it in my stash, aging gracefully.

Busy pattern, busy fabrics - nothing I did was going to show much. This is going into Dad's B&B. The only room that doesn't have one of my quilts is a room that is very masculine. I put a Ponderosa Pine bough panto on this, great texture and that's all I wanted. Well....that and to be DONE!!!

It finished to 81x81. The squares finished to 1-1/2". Had I been paying attention, I would have re-drafted the pattern to larger squares. It felt like there was more thread than fabric in it by the time I got it together!

Thanks for the input!

WOW, Shelley - that's gorgeous! It sure made me do a double-take; I'm working on one very similiar from a 2006 Quilt It magazine (9" 9 Patches) using Kansas Troubles Cranberry Wishes. You've given me hope that I will get it finished eventually!!

What a fantastic quilt :D

Beautiful Quilt Shelly. Did you strip piece it or did you actually cut all those individual squares?
