This is my attempt at going back to quilting (this is my second). I did one other 20 years ago! I would really like your opinions on the placement of the applique pieces and whether or not this will be worth finishing or just keeping as a top in the closet. Please keep in mind that the applique pieces are just sitting on the pieced top. I would like to spend the rest of the weekend hand appliqueing these so I can start on the OBW on Monday!

Thanks everyone,

Oh, I think that is just lovely and definitely worth finishing into a quilt!!!

My one comment is that I think I would like to see the cat combination of appliques spread apart a little more, to cover a slightly larger area -- especially upwards.

I think it is beautiful!! Definitely worth finishing. If you don't like/want it when you're through, I know a good charity you can send it to!! It's called...Cathy-loves-it-and-needs-it please!! LOL!! Good work and can't wait to see it when you are done!

I like it the way it is to, YES, finish it, it's too cute to sit in the closet.

Oh Bailey, I like that! The combination of squares and flowers along with the color contrast will look great. The only thing I would change would be to have more than one flower in the upper group. I've always done machine applique, too scared to try hand applique, good for you!

Thank you both for looking. I think I like it but I will play around a little more with moving the cats apart more and up as suggested. Never thought of doing that - it might work! Sorry for the not so good picture. I really need to get something up on a wall before I start the OBW.

Off to play some more with the appliques.

Maybe you can see the 3 top flowers in this picture better.
