This will be the first row of the memorial quilt I'm making. The squares are from my friend's sons clothing and I added the side pieces. This will be for one of his sisters. I've got most of the pieces cut out but had to play around last night and today to see how it was going to look together.
What do you think?

Thank you all! The pattern calls for 6 blocks in a row (8 rows) but I'm seriously thinking about just doing five in a row and 7 rows. One reason is she asked for quilts the girls could take in the car with them and another is I'm afraid i won't have enough material! I've cut up most of what she sent me already. I think doing the quilts smaller I can just squeeze two from what I have. This boy and my oldest dd were in the same homeschool group for years until we changed groups. They were the same age. Really hard thinking about that!

Bless you for doing this for the family . It is very thoughtful of you !

Better to go smaller and get two then make one bigger and then run out of fabric . You are doing fantastic

What a wonderful memory quilt. It is wonderful of you to do this for them. I can't wait to see the finished quilt. That is a wonderful pattern. Thanks for sharing with us.
