Thank you all. I have the rest of the fabric in the washer so just maybe I can put a dent in getting it finished this weekend.
No, it's not paper pieced. I used the Marti Michell giant dahlia templates. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and is one that I will make again.

Well, you notice I said "settled" on a border. I didn't have any inspiration on that border, I just used one from EQ6. I am having such a hard time on this one.
Last night I started to sew the strips and cut the 2" squares from strips. I cut one sewn section and was playing around with the pieces on my table and they wanted to do this. :P
I sewed one together with the background fabric of the quilt and it tells me that this is The One.
