When I add the wide outer borders I try and pull them a bit, with a little more tension on those pieces than the center of the quilt. That way they don't come out too big.

No way you've been quilting for 6 mths!! I've been at it for 3 yrs and don't do the quilting yet!! It's beautiful!! I keep hinting too! So far daughter takes quilts for friends. I keep trying to find cute ideas to entice them!! Lol. Good luck!! I'm rooting for you!!!

Beautiful quilt. I was also taught to measure at the center to get the measurement for the borders. So measure, then cut two borders, sew them, then turn quilt and measure again for the last two borders. Good luck with this. But be very proud of the beautiful quilt. Hope you get a gd soon. I have one and she is the joy of my life.

Wow that's a beautiful quilt. I always measure the centre length of the quilt and do the binding that length and the same across ways. It helps to stop that buckling.

This is so pretty, you did a great job. I too have trouble with the boarder I have tried several things, I don't know what I do wrong.
