finished four in the past 3 weeks!!!
Some of these have been in the works for more than a year and for one reason or another only recently were completed.
The friendship star was my first attempt at a non-traditional set with two different block sizes. It is completed but I did not take any pictures of it post quilting/binding and I already gave it away.
The picture panel quilt was for my husband and he was very involved in its design. He wanted a quilt that featured some of his favorite wildlife critters and so we started gathering picture panels from many different sources. By the time we had gathered them all, we realized that we had too many to make the quilt and had to decide to leave some out or find another way to include them all. Our solution was to make two tops and have a reversible quilt. My husband and I are very happy with the results. It is the largest quilt I have ever made d/t the fact that it has a 15 inch drop on 3 sides and a pillow tuck. I am really pleased with the way the machine quilting came out and owe thanks to my two teenage children for helping me to baste and mark it for quilting and to my walking foot for managing the job.
The t-shirt quilt was made for my youngest son and features his favorite sports teams and his fantasy football league.
The Texas quilt is designed to be a wall hanging and the back features a Texas flag.
Now that my UFOs are done I feel a combination of relief, happiness, and emptiness. I made myself a promise that I would buy no new fabric until these 4 projects were finished and now I am planning (plotting???) my next purchase and project.
