and made a couple of beginners mistakes. I used a bedsheet for the back and together with the quiltdesign over all those seams and intersections it was sure hard work. Ruffly 200 hours of handstitching in this one!?

Its for my DS and since I could not come up with a design for the border, I quilted a funny poem from Ringelnatz (famous german poet) around the quilt.

Its amazing how much softer a quilt gets when handquilted and I am quite happy with the outcome. Will have to pick up and then I start basting my Dresden

Wow wow wow! Very nice!!

I think that is why I love hand-quilted quilts so much - they definitely have a different "feel" to them.

I know he will love it.

I'm a handquilter myself! You're right, it does have a much softer look and feel when it's completed.

Your quilt looks fantastic! I love the blue monochrome, and your stitching is beautifully even. Really, really excellent work. :)

Hand quilted-wonderful. I am a machine quilter. That is what I love to do. I admire people who hand quilt. The quilt is gorgeous. I love the colors

I admire your quilting as well as your tenacity, especially in quilting through a sheet. I personally found such a difference hand quilting through a sheet as compared to regular fabric that the only time I use a sheet is if I'm machine quilting it.

Nothing like a hand-quilted quilt. Lovely!

That is so beautiful. Blue is my favorite color and you chose some beautiful shades of blue. I am amazed at your time spent hand quilting. How big were your original squares for the D9P? They look small.
