Default Finished my sister's California King

After a couple of days to do laundry and grocery shop after our trip, I tackled this oversized monster. I had to mount it sideways and roll extra batting and backing for the sides onto the frame. The bottom was added after it came off the quilting frame. For the three sides I added a border of various stripes to bring the final dimensions to 120"square. The border I quilted off the frame on my domestic. I had exactly 12 blocks left over to make 3 pillows. The pattern wraps around the pillow with a zipper in the back. But I'm done. I'm pleased. I used a soft feather arch in each of the triangles and continuous feathers in the border. I don't think I'll do something this big again for a while. The whole process took me over 2 months. Enjoy. My pictures are on a queen and the quilt just puddles on the floor all around.

Absolutely beautiful quilt. I love the colors. The quilting is wonderful.
It looks like you have a quilt hung on the wall as a 'headboard' for your bed. From what I can see of it, it is a beauty also.

It's gorgeous! And so big, too. Your sister will love it.

Oh yes you will!!!!!!
You know you will

I'd say it's signs that a new frame is in order to handle these big monsters!!!
After all, you're going to have so much time for quilting, now that you're retired and won't have the interruptions of that day job!!

It's wonderful ... and will be a perfect fit with your DSis' B+B home.

Its beautiful... Great job. Maybe you should get bed risers and just leave it on your bed. It looks good with the wall quilt. lol
