Default Finished My Son's Fisherman Wall hanging!

Was for his last birthday, at least I finished before the one coming up lol! He's a dedicated catch & release large mouth bass fisherman. He chose this RealTree panel and I found the complimentary fabrics for the braided border and binding. I used several threads for the FMQ, the most I've ever used, but it was worth it. The lures are ones his Dad & Grandfather used. Thanks for looking!

That's such a beautiful quilt & I know your son will cherish it forever. What a great way to hang it on the reel & use touching use his dad & granddad's lures for hangers. What a special quilt.

Very nice male quilt! Love the lures added on. That really makes this quilt extra special. Can you tell us how you did the lures; that is, how you attached them to the quilt? It looks like you may have used grommets.

How very special. It is great when you can do a manly quilt/wall hanging that will be used & appreciated.

Yes I did use grommets. Added a "sleeve" in same material as the binding. Used 1x7 covered stainless steel line and purchased the hooks with the oval pieces in silver & gold at Walmart. The hooks went into the grommet holes, I measured the line and cut 14 inch pieces. Tied the line to the tops of the hooks then added the lures. Last Step was to have a standard length of line to the pole so it would hang evenly. Lots of measuring, but worth it to make a "one if a kind" art piece for my son. And yes, he is thrilled with it!
