I finished the top of the quilt the pattern says to just put it together and bind. I am debating if I should add a border. This quilt is for my son for Christmas. He did not want flowers or anything fancy...he said plain...well its not plain but I think he will like it. He has a dog and a cat so I used the paws theme. All most all of the squares are paws...can't see them in the picture.

I think a lighter colored border with a dark binding would look really nice. Are you trying to get it to be a certain size?

Love the top and the pawprints theme! Your son will be very happy.

I think you guys are right! I am going to add a border. I just looked at the flannel I bought and it not enough....so bummed I bought it a quilt shop several hours away. I hope Joanne's has quality flannel. I read that you should only use flannel from a quilt shop since flannel tends to pill.

I'd use the center brown for a binding/border

I think it is calling out for a border (or two) :)

I have made several bargellos. I put a border on them all. They just didn't seem finished without the border. Just my opinion.
